RSSBusy, busy!
Hello friends! It's been a busy spring and start to summer for me, and I'm sure it has been for you as well. As is customary when the legislature isn't in session, I've had the opportunity to listen and visit with a number of different groups including Voices for Children, AARP, AAUW, and others to hear about issues that are impacting their lives. Session finished...how did South Dakota fare?
It's no secret that the 2012 session was tough on a lot of people in South Dakota -- namely for the education community, but also for community support providers, women, and children.
I want to hear from you!
Legislators are often contacted by people from a wide variety of issue groups and lobbyists -- in fact, there are about 4 lobbyists for each legislator in Pierre. Often, these are valuable conversations, and I want to make sure one piece of the puzzle isn't missing: hearing from you! Hearing from constituents about what issues affect your life is the best way for me to be effective. The best way to reach out is to send an email to angie [at] angiebuhl.com. Please include your name, address, and phone number, so that I may follow up if I have any additonal questions.
2012 Session Starts Jan 10
Happy new year, everyone! The 2012 legislative session is fast approaching, and I'm looking forward to getting back to Pierre to continue working on issues facing South Dakotans. I'm focused on helping kids and helping to stimulate our economy, and am working on bills including daycare safety, early learning programs, protections for job seekers, and encouraging new entrepreneurs.
